What to Wear for Canyoning in North Wales

Heading out on your first canyoning adventure? One of the most common questions we hear is, "What should I wear?"

The good news is that you don't need any specialist outdoor clothing. We'll provide the technical equipment—you just need to bring a few essentials to make sure you're comfortable before, during and after your adventure.

What We'll Provide

When you join Adrenalin Addicts, we'll supply all the specialist equipment needed for your canyoning experience, including:

• Wetsuit

• Buoyancy aid

• Helmet

What You Should Bring

Swimwear

Wear your swimwear underneath your clothes when you arrive. This makes getting changed into your wetsuit much quicker.

Sturdy Footwear

You'll need trainers or lightweight walking shoes that you don't mind getting completely wet.

Avoid:

• Flip-flops

• Sandals

• Crocs

• Bare feet

Good grip is important as you'll be walking on wet rocks.

Old Shorts to wear over your wetsuit

Towel

You'll definitely appreciate a warm towel after your adventure!

Warm Clothes for Afterwards

After getting changed, having warm, dry clothing and comfortable shoes makes the journey home much more enjoyable.

Any Medication

If you use an inhaler or carry medication, let your instructor know before the activity begins.

What Not to Bring

To keep your belongings safe, it's best to leave valuables at home or securely stored.

Avoid bringing:

• Jewellery

• Expensive watches

• Large wallets

• Anything that could be lost in the water

If you wear glasses, speak to your instructor before the activity we may recommend using a secure sports strap.

Do I Need to Be Fit?

You don't need to be an elite athlete, but canyoning is an active adventure. You'll be walking, scrambling, swimming and climbing throughout the experience.

Will I Get Cold?

Not for long! Your wetsuit is designed to keep you warm in the water, and you'll usually be moving throughout the activity, helping you stay comfortable.
